Episode 62: Esphyr Slobodkina: Abstraction

Painter Esphyr Slobodkina creates compositions of precise, hard-edged forms and colors; structures that express a universal visual vocabulary not found in nature. In the episode, I made a comparison between Esphyr Slobodkina’s abstraction and the Social Regionalist, Reginald Marsh and his paintings of the American scene.
